Kelsey Thompson brings wide-ranging experience and a diverse skillset, excelling in organizational & project management, partnership engagement, and community outreach.
Kelsey has guided organizations as executive director, including the Missouri Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (MOAAP), the statewide membership organization for Missouri pediatricians. Her multi-sector experience includes senior roles in Missouri state government, including managing scheduling and operations for Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. Before joining the governor’s office, she worked multiple election cycles focusing on public affairs, partner engagement, community outreach, as well as organizational management and operations. Previously, Kelsey managed Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s 2008 campaign, where Carnahan was reelected with more than 1.7 million votes – the most votes ever cast for a candidate in Missouri history at the time.
Kelsey is a life-long Missourian, raised in Monroe City and now living in Columbia; she understands well the urban, exurban, and rural landscapes. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Missouri. Kelsey and her husband are the busy parents of three young boys.
